Good news for Jonathan, he is well! At least getting better, with a very, very mild flu.Today was presentation day for Jonathan and his group partner. It did not seem to go well in his opinion but he knows there is still room and time for improvement. It is always important to make progress.
The school held a Sport Day event today and he caught a short glimpse of it.
After lunch, Jonathan and the Singapore students headed out for yet another site visit. This site visit happens every Thursday afternoon and a full-day Friday. He was brought to a food production factory, that apparently is also in partnership with Singapore. The company name is uncertain, their signboard says “Doerte”, but their pamphlet reads “Doeret”. Whatever the company name is, he never heard of such a brand in Singapore.
Once again, a funny sign overhead a room for a Laboratory.
Everyone at the visit had to dress up in white boots, white dressing with mask. He thought everyone looked like mini surgeons, psychotic surgeons to be precise. He had to go through the typical process of hand washing, then washing of the boots by stepping into a pool of water. The tour for him ended in about ten minutes. What a waste of time, because he could not get to walk around inside but just stand in a observatory box to see.
Dinner was settled outside the school campus again. Finally he started to explore out from the school zone. He had Shanghai Wan Ton Noodles. Slowly, Jonathan is getting fearful of dumplings, because they would always serve at least ten dumplings for each bowl. He believes he has had at least twenty this week. He is certain about it. On top of that, he shared Xiao Long Bao with his other group of friends. He feels that he needs a one week Western meal the moment he returns back to Singapore, he is sick of Chinese food. But before the Western meal, he needs bland food plus a detoxification from the salt and oil.
After dinner, he came across Roti Prata China version, they call it 手shou抓zhua饼bing. It turned out to be salty as usual. He is finally getting to try food outside of the school compound, this is what he has been waiting for, despite the outcome being disappointing because of its over use in salt and oil.
